God's Challenge

What would you do if God gave you an idea that would glorify his name? Would you spend over 3 years of your time researching and obtaining a copyright, trademark and patent? Would you max out your personal credit and mortgage your house to see that product manufactured to the point of bankruptcy?

Meet the couple who rose to the occasion and accepted God's challenge.

Jay and Midge Ladner were born into families that attended church but didn’t understand the value of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They accepted the Lord at an early age, but didn’t have the power of the Holy Spirit to sustain them through the usual teenage temptations. They drifted far from God, but He was never far from them. They finally accepted Jesus as their Lord, Master, and King in 1990. In 1991, Jay attended a Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship meeting where a woman prophesied that God would use him mightily. Several years later Jay attended a bible study where the topic of discussion was what would you do if God had promised to use you, but 20 years had passed and nothing had happened yet?

“Oh, no!” thought Jay, “That’s going to be me!”

Luckily, he was off by 12 years. Rev. Jay Ladner and his wife, Midge, were at a conference at Word is God Worship Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with Pastors Lamar and Denise Beverly-Davis and Pastor Jerry and Nancy Christensen where the subject of praising God was high on the agenda. God had already told Jay years earlier to praise Him 15 minutes daily using the 12 names of God. That night Midge had a dream in which she saw a clock with a beautiful sunset and heard it say “Praise God” every hour. They combined the names of God with the sunset and now have the only clock in the world that says “Praise God” every hour! They were encouraged by the Holy Spirit to purchase the patent, an expensive and time-consuming project. In February 2002, after attending a Living Word International conference in Athens, Georgia, they hooked up with a manufacturer and were finally on their way! Their prayer is that 1 million “Praise God Time” clocks would eventually be distributed all over the world, and the words “Praise God” would resound 24 million times a day!

The Ladner family has endured many setbacks, hardships, and disappointments along the way, but God has been with them always to get them through, always on time, and always victorious with His Plan. They are honored to be in business for God and eager to encourage others to “Praise God”.
